Astrid Salomon

Astrid Salomon was born in the last days of divided Germany, in the east. As a child she always dreamed of faraway places and colourful things. Later she learned the craft as a Portrait Photographer in her hometown near Berlin and worked as a fashion photographer, living between Hamburg, Berlin, and New York. She then started working as a commercial director, became a mother and moved with her Australian partner to Melbourne. She loves visually strong and bold imagery inspired by the great masters such as Newton, Bettina Rheims and Guy Bourdin but also loves to play with her imagery with a mixed-media approach. She loves the intimacy of a photoshoot and always searches for that little extra something. Astrid loves to work multi-disciplinary and is always interested in the process of true creative collaboration. She has published her work in Magazines like Interview, Sleek, Elle, Vogue and Grazia and shot campaigns for clients such as Häagen Dazs, Closed Jeans, Karstadt and Nivea.
